DESCRIPTION

A rare example of a molded plywood table designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The table was initially designed in 1946. The Herman Miller Furniture Company took over marketing and distribution in late 1946. Production and merchandizing of the round tables were transfered to Evans Products in New Haven, Michigan in 1947 and continued through 1948. All table production was shifted to Herman Miller in 1949. The round tables were discontinued in 1957. In the 1950 Herman Miller catalog the table is called CTW-3 and was offered in birch, walnut, calico ash, red analine dye and black analine dye. The CTW-3 offered is from the 1949 - 1957 time frame. Rare to find a table in birch with the aluminum tag and in original condition.
