DESCRIPTION

A vintage teak "Pinnoccio" chair, designed by Yngve Ekström for Stolab in the 1950's.  Yngve Ekström was a Swedish furniture designer, wood carver, sculptor, architect and an important figure in the evolution of the Scandinavian Modernism movement. Ekström designed for Stolab in the 1950's then was the co-founder of the furniture manufacturer ESE-möbler (later renamed Swedese) with his brother Jerker and business partner Sven Bertil Sjöqvist.  Ekström worked at Swedese for over 40 years until his death in 1988.  The chair measures approximately 32 inches tall at the top of the back rail, the seat is 17 1/4 inches tall / 17 inches wide and 17 inches deep.  The chair is stamped "Made In Sweden" on the bottom of the seat.

CONDITION

The chair is in very good vintage condition, there are some bruises on the spindles where the chaired was pressed into a dining table for years. The back spindles are a little loose at the plank seat, but barely. The finish has been cleaned and oiled, but is original.

SHIPPING

Because of the size of the chair, the chair will have to be shipped via a white glove carrier of the buyers choice, the chair can also be held for pickup by the buyer.  R A COMER 2 could gladly be of assistance, if needed, regarding the white glove carrier pickup.  The chair can be delivered in metro Atlanta free of charge.
